Creation of the Associação dos Fissurados de Rondônia (ASFIR – Rondônia Cleft Lip Association) and the Núcleo de Fissurados de Rondônia (Rondônia Cleft Lip Nucleus). Operation Smile is one of the largest voluntary medical organizations in the world, with around 6,000 healthcare professionals from 80 countries. Its activities take place through humanitarian missions, in which free consultations and surgeries are performed for children and adults with orofacial clefts, such as cleft lip and cleft palate.
