The project is part of the Raízes Program developed by CPFL Renováveis and aims to expand access to safe water for human consumption and production, through a model that integrates technological innovation, capacity building, and community-based water management in nine rural communities.

The CPFL Renewables Roots Program focuses on the economic, environmental, and social development of communities surrounding the projects where the Company operates. The program's goal is to bring communities and local stakeholders closer together to think about and build local development based on the principles of sustainability.

The partnership between Adel and CPFL Renováveis for this project is an opportunity for the institution to expand its area of operation. Adel has been operating in Ceará for nine years, and carrying out this project in a new Northeastern state is yet another challenge and achievement for the organization, highlights Gláucio Gomes, Adel's Development Director.

“This experience is fantastic for Adel, expanding our work to a new state in the Northeast and applying socio-environmental technologies and solutions that we have been working on for some years in Ceará in a context with similar challenges. We will learn more about how to reapply these technologies and adapt them to the particularities of a new region, while at the same time contributing to the local development of these communities. The Raízes Program has a very consistent multidisciplinary approach to promoting local development, and Adel is proud to be part of this initiative.”

Access to water is one of the main limitations to local development in the Brazilian Northeast. However, Adel believes that even amidst this challenge, it is possible to improve the living conditions of families, generate income, and expand agricultural production in the semi-arid region through the use of sustainable technologies. Through the installation of physical equipment and training for families in the management of implemented production units and water resources, Adel aims to contribute to local development.

During the implementation of the Water Security Project, Adel will conduct a feasibility study of existing water resources and technologies in the communities. In addition, it will explore alternative solutions for water resources for consumption and production; promote exchanges with community leaders; install various social technologies; and hold workshops on water resource management for water supply and irrigation, among other activities.

Adel's perspective's to collaborate in the implementation of the Water Security project in communities in Rio Grande do Norte where the Raízes Program operates. The organization's desire is that access to water and technologies for living with the semi-arid climate can contribute to the development of rural communities in the region.

CPFL Renewables Roots Program

With the goal of creating a broad Private Social Investment Program, aimed at contributing to increasing the positive social, environmental, and economic impact in the communities and surrounding areas where CPFL Renováveis operates, and based on a participatory process with the communities and local stakeholders, the Raízes Program was born.

The first cycle of the program (2013-2015) supported projects related to production chains, tourism, handicrafts, infrastructure, culture, sports and leisure, in the municipalities of São Miguel do Gostoso, Parazinho, João Câmara and Touros (Rio Grande do Norte) and Palmares do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul). In this first phase of the program, 9,188 people were indirectly benefited. For the current cycle of Raízes (2016-2017), all projects follow these pillars: Water Security, Commitment to Future Generations and Production Chains.

To carry out the Raízes Program, CPFL Renováveis relies on local and regional partners. In this cycle, Adel is a partner in the Water Security Project, in the municipalities of São Miguel do Gostoso and João Câmara, in Rio Grande do Norte.

Raízes Website: http://www.cpflrenovaveis.com.br/raizes

Confira essa matéria na íntegra: Matéria Completa Entre os dias 24 e 28 de outubro, a Adel iniciou o

[113

post-17043","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-na-midia
["GET
