Incubation and Acceleration of Local Businesses and Entrepreneurs

- Positive impact
- Brazil
- Paper and pulp, forest-based products
- Scope: corporate announcement, income generation, impact assessment, Balanced Scorecard, quilombola community
Challenge
Suzano is one of the world's largest pulp and paper producers. It needed to strengthen its relationship with local communities in Conceição da Barra and São Mateus (ES), including rural and urban quilombola areas. The company faced low engagement with its social actions and sought to promote local development and income generation more effectively.

Solution
In response, Transforma.ai developed an 18-month Private Social Investment Programmefocused on incubating and accelerating local businesses, based on an inclusive and robust corporate call for proposals:
1 - Structuring the corporate notice:
Mapping of Suzano's previous actions in the region and creation of a new call for proposals with selection criteria, regulations, and engagement strategy, allowing the participation of formal and informal entrepreneurs.
2 - Implementation, engagement and dissemination of the call for proposals:
On-site visits and workshops for project registration, diversifying participation channels and making them even more inclusive.
3 - Selection and monitoring:
Evaluation of 670 projects using the Balanced Scorecard methodology, selection of 72 projects, and design of an action plan for project implementation.
