A leader in the offshore drilling sector in Brazil, Foresea celebrates the positive results of the first year of its Socio-environmental Program with actions focused on its two lines of action: Comprehensive Education and Green Economy. At an event held in the municipality of Macaé last Tuesday (November 12th), company leaders shared the progress made in improving the quality of basic education and professionalizing the waste collection and recycling system in the city. The event was attended by more than 180 people, including school administrators, entrepreneurs, and city hall officials.

“We're very pleased with the results of this first cycle of the program. And this is just the beginning of the work. It's very good to see that our management experience is proving useful for improvements in the city and benefits for the municipality of Macaé. We want, with Foresea Socioambiental, to create a legacy of positive impact, generating value sustainably in the communities where we operate,” commented Marco Aurélio Fonseca, Vice President of Sustainability at Foresea.

Within the Comprehensive Education focus area, in partnership with Macaé Department of Education, 185 school administrators were trained, reaching 100% of the municipality's public school network. Workshops focused on self-care, team management, time management, and pedagogical management promoted the development of competencies among the administrators of municipal schools. "The work was designed based on collaborative meetings held to develop the competency matrix for school management in the municipal elementary school network," explains Jocelina Valle, Sustainability Coordinator at Foresea.

Cooperative increased collection volume 47 times.

Within the Green Economy area of focus, in collaboration with Macaeco Cooperative, 38 recycling professionals were trained, who also received 108 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) and seven bicycle-powered carts adapted for waste collection and transportation. As a result, the cooperative increased its collection volume 47 times in the second half of 2024 and raised over R$ 11,000 from the sale of approximately 12 tons of waste between August and October 2024.

Foresea's Socio-environmental Program also encourages and relies on the active and voluntary participation of company employees and their families. Throughout the year, they participated in various initiatives and collected personal hygiene items for Centro Pop, an organization specializing in serving homeless individuals. There were also voluntary actions to collect recyclable waste for the Ecoponto Onda Verde, a project that seeks to properly dispose of collected materials so they can return to the production chain through recycling. Encouraged by Foresea, volunteers and their families also participated in entertainment activities for children and young people at CEMAIA, a shelter for children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability.
